THE APARTMENT
Our spacious studio apartment is perched high up on the 3rd floor and has one of the best views in the building.
It is south-west facing for bright afternoon and evening sunshine, and it boasts a fantastic and extensive view down the spectacular Gosau valley.
The view encompasses surrounding grazing pastures to the nearby Dachstein mountain, and the ski slopes opposite.
The room has two single beds with bedside drawer units and reading lamps. There is a large wardrobe with hanging space and internal shelves for storage.
Two comfortable sofas, two small coffee tables, a large sideboard for the TV and DVD player, and a standard lamp with dimmer compliment the lounge area. A dining table and two cushioned dining chairs complete the living area of the room.
A door leads from this room onto our private balcony, where there are chairs and a table, plus lights and electric socket. A clothes drier and pegs are also available. After a busy day out and about in the summer this is the place to relax and dine listening to the tinkling of the cowbells and distant church bells, which create a relaxing and memorable atmosphere.
Separated from the main room is our kitchen, which is fully equipped with two hot plate cooking hobs, electric griller, microwave, toaster and electric coffee maker, and a refrigerator with small freezer compartment. All crockery, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils are provided. An iron and ironing board are also available.

The bathroom has a bathtub with an overhead shower, a toilet, washbasin with a shaving point, electric socket and an electric heater. There's always a good supply of hot water and the storage heaters always keep the apartment warm and cosy. The whole of the apartment is non-smoking and pet free.
It is one of several dozen private apartments situated within the prestigious Vitalhotel, a sports and leisure complex with a wide range of amenities, all of which are available to our guests. At the end of a day in the mountains it is a treat to return home for a swim and a sauna session before taking drinks in the bar or on our balcony as the sun goes down.
As well as the heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, a games room and sun beds, which are free for use by our guests, there's also a steam room and a gym, indoor tennis court, health spa treatments, and bike hire available for a charge.
The hotel has a well stocked coctail bar and a fully serviced restaurant that offers an extensive menu and a wide ranging buffet style breakfast which can be used by our guests, once prior notice is given, at a specially discounted rate. A bar is also available.
A lift and stairs serve all floors in the private apartment block, close to the apartment owners' own ample parking area. The hotel has a garden (and, in winter, its own beginners' ski slope), and is surrounded by grazing pastures (in summer), with a small stream passing by - all just 500m from Gosau village centre where the Tourist Office, banks, fuel station, shops and supermarket can conveniently be found.
Last winter, the hotel and its gardens, were refurbished throughout, to a very high standard.
In winter, a bus service comes to the hotel to take skiers to and from the ski slopes, 5 &10 minutes away. There are storage facilities in the building for skis and boots. Two express covered ski lifts take you to the top of the slopes from where many other ski runs start. You can ski back to the bottom of the ski lifts.
In Gosau, there are 45 kms of Langlauf (cross-country tracks) throughout the valley floor. These tracks are carefully maintained by state of the art equipment. An extensive range of ski equipment can be hired locally, langlau skis and boots too. Ski passes can be purchased there.
