By Road 

'West autobahn' A1 (Motorway, running east-west, north of area): Exit Regau or Thalgau - direction to Bad Ischl - Bad Goisern - Gosau

'Tauern autobahn' A10 (Motorway, running North-South, to west of area): Exit Golling or St. Martin - direction Gosau B166

Coming from the direction of Graz: A9 (Motorway) via Liezen - Bad Aussee - Bad Goisern - Gosau

Austria requires drivers to buy a Motorway toll card, which costs about €7.50 for 10 days. Winter tyres must be fitted from Mid-November - April

Train and Bus

Buses run frequently, and on time, between all local towns and villages: Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, Obertraun to the east, and Golling, Abtenau and Salzburg to the west. 

Buses from Salzburg to Gosau travel via Golling and via St Wolfgang and Bad Ischl.
